Teknosys is seeking a Lead Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to play a pivotal role in shaping Pakistan’s cloud future by building resilient and scalable platforms. This position, based in Islamabad and classified as Grade L3, focuses on designing, deploying, and managing on-premises and private cloud environments with an emphasis on Kubernetes-based platforms. The successful candidate will lead efforts in reliability engineering and production operations, ensuring mission-critical applications run seamlessly across data centers. This leadership role demands deep expertise in Kubernetes cluster design, automation, monitoring, and infrastructure reliability, along with the ability to guide engineering teams and define strategic platform roadmaps.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, deploy, and manage on-premises and private cloud environments that support mission-critical applications.
- Build, upgrade, and maintain highly available, production-grade Kubernetes clusters with full lifecycle management.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, and automation tools to standardize and streamline infrastructure processes.
- Establish robust monitoring, logging, and alerting systems using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK stacks, and Datadog to enable proactive issue detection.
- Drive reliability engineering initiatives through defining SLAs, SLOs, incident response protocols, and conducting root cause analysis for critical production issues.
- Enforce Kubernetes security best practices, including RBAC, network policies, and secrets management, while ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
- Mentor and collaborate with engineering teams across departments, contributing to platform roadmap development and continuous operational improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 6 to 8 years of experience in Infrastructure Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, or System Administration.
- Strong expertise in Kubernetes platform operations and cluster management.
- Proficiency with virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere and OpenStack, along with experience in bare metal provisioning and storage systems like SAN, NAS, or Ceph.
- Skilled in automation and Infrastructure as Code tools, particularly Terraform and Ansible, complemented by scripting abilities in Shell or Python.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools including Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, and Datadog.
- Familiarity with building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, or similar platforms.
