As the Lead - Cloud Platform Engineering & Provisioning, you will play a pivotal role in designing, enhancing, and scaling our hosted cloud platform. This hands-on technical leadership position requires driving platform engineering, managing major infrastructure upgrades, and introducing new services while ensuring efficient provisioning and meeting capacity and availability standards. You will collaborate closely with Cloud Platform Operations and other stakeholders to maintain a reliable, scalable platform that adapts to evolving customer needs.

Key Responsibilities
- Drive platform engineering and design by owning reference architectures and establishing build standards across compute, storage, virtualization, data protection, and networking, ensuring alignment with technical and security requirements.
- Lead major platform upgrades, infrastructure expansions, migrations, and new-site initiatives with comprehensive testing, risk assessments, and rollback plans.
- Introduce new cloud services from design through proof of concept, testing, operational readiness, and handover, ensuring all operational documentation and support mechanisms are in place before release.
- Manage end-to-end customer provisioning and onboarding, meeting turnaround commitments and ensuring technical readiness for go-live.
- Protect platform capacity and performance by assessing workloads, forecasting resource needs, and accepting or deferring workloads based on capacity thresholds.
- Strengthen platform reliability by reviewing technical changes, providing expertise on complex issues, and leading remediation efforts in partnership with Platform Operations.
- Serve as the technical design authority for hosted cloud solutions, supporting solution engineering and pre-sales teams in evaluating platform feasibility for complex customer requirements.
- Coordinate with OEMs and technical partners to ensure alignment of professional services with approved designs during upgrades and migrations.
- Build and lead a high-performing engineering and provisioning team, fostering technical growth, accountability, and efficient delivery.
- Collaborate across departments including Cloud Platform Operations, Systems Integration, Technical Support, Cybersecurity, Solution Engineering, Tech PMO, and Supply Chain to ensure smooth delivery and transition of platform services.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of IT infrastructure experience, including at least 4 years hands-on with enterprise virtualization or private cloud platforms supporting production workloads.
- Experience with multi-tenant cloud or hosting platforms operating under defined availability commitments.
- Proven track record of planning and executing major platform upgrades, infrastructure expansions, or migrations in live environments with structured testing and risk management.
- Knowledge of customer onboarding and provisioning processes on shared platforms, including turnaround and capacity-based workload acceptance.
- Experience leading engineering teams and managing provisioning or delivery queues alongside planned technical changes.
- Strong expertise in VMware technologies such as vSphere, vCenter, Cloud Director, and NSX, with experience in major version migrations preferred.
- Solid understanding of enterprise compute, Linux administration, storage, backup, disaster recovery, and platform networking including tenant isolation and hybrid cloud connectivity.
- Familiarity with container platforms (e.g., Red Hat OpenShift), public clouds (AWS, Azure), and hybrid cloud environments is advantageous.
- Knowledge of multi-tenancy, identity and access management, logging, provisioning automation, self-service portals, and capacity modeling.
- Ability to assess platform impact of complex workloads, forecast infrastructure needs, and make data-driven technical decisions.
- Experience working with regulated environments, especially financial services, with understanding of audit requirements, SLAs, and contractual availability.
- Relevant certifications such as VMware VCP/VCAP, Red Hat OpenShift, storage and backup vendor certifications, or ITIL are preferred. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
- Comfortable delivering changes in live production environments, coordinating across teams and partners, and supporting change windows outside regular hours.
