Lead I - Software Testing

With over six years of experience in test automation, this role requires a skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) who can design and implement robust automation frameworks. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, MongoDB, Kafka, and RabbitMQ, with the ability to develop high-quality test automation solutions. This position involves working closely within Agile teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage across unit, functional, non-functional, integration, UI, and API testing. The candidate will be responsible for building scalable automation frameworks, developing code for quality assurance, and managing test environments to support continuous integration and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks using Java and related technologies such as Spring Boot and MongoDB.
- Implement automation scripts for functional, regression, and performance testing using tools like JUnit and Cucumber.
- Conduct thorough testing across multiple layers including unit, integration, UI, API, and non-functional testing.
- Build, customize, deploy, and manage test environments and automation frameworks to support ongoing testing activities.
- Develop and maintain code with extensive unit test coverage to ensure software quality.
- Utilize service virtualization tools such as CA Service Virtualization to simulate dependent services.
- Perform SOAP and REST API testing using tools like CA DevTest or AppTest.
- Collaborate effectively within Agile teams, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or other continuous integration tools.
- Prepare detailed test reports to communicate results and quality metrics to stakeholders.
- Apply strong test design and engineering principles to improve test effectiveness and efficiency.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of 6 years of experience in test automation.
- Proficient in Java programming with hands-on experience in Spring Boot, MongoDB, Kafka, and RabbitMQ.
- Solid experience with automation frameworks and tools such as JUnit and Cucumber.
- Strong knowledge of various testing types including unit, functional, non-functional, integration, UI, and API testing.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- Familiarity with continuous integration tools like Jenkins.
- Ability to develop and maintain scalable and maintainable test automation frameworks.
- Experience with service virtualization and API testing tools (e.g., CA Service Virtualization, CA DevTest/AppTest).

- Exposure to Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices.
