INTECH Automation Intelligence is seeking a Lead Process Engineer to join a dynamic team focused on delivering Industrial Digitalization Solutions across sectors including Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Utilities, Mining, Cement, Metals, and Manufacturing. This role demands a skilled process engineering professional with hands-on experience in Advanced Process Control (APC), Model Predictive Control (MPC), process optimization, and plant performance improvement. The successful candidate will contribute to innovative digital projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and productivity, working within a company dedicated to cutting-edge industrial automation and digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities
Lead process engineering efforts for FEED, detailed engineering, and digital solution projects involving APC. Conduct site surveys, process walkdowns, and operational data collection to assess process performance. Review and interpret PFDs, P&IDs, operating philosophies, process data, DCS configurations, and historical plant data. Define process operating envelopes, constraints, bottlenecks, and optimization opportunities. Perform process engineering calculations including mass and energy balances and hydraulic analyses to validate design changes and APC implementations. Develop process design bases, narratives, APC control philosophies, FAT/SAT procedures, and KPI/performance reports. Assess instrumentation and measurement gaps for APC deployment and establish baseline KPIs for performance evaluation. Identify and rationalize Controlled Variables (CVs), Manipulated Variables (MVs), and Disturbance Variables (DVs) for APC applications. Translate process objectives into MPC/APC control strategies and support dynamic and multivariable process model development. Analyze plant step-test data to determine process dynamics and support inferential sensor development. Review APC model performance and collaborate with APC engineers to ensure accurate plant representation. Identify equipment performance limitations and review regulatory control strategies for APC opportunities. Support PID tuning, cascade, and ratio control strategies, and evaluate control loop performance. Define APC/DCS interface requirements and coordinate with instrumentation and control teams. Review HMI/control graphics and operating procedures from a process perspective. Participate in FAT, SAT, site commissioning, plant step testing, and APC deployment. Validate APC models against actual plant behavior and support transition to closed-loop operation. Monitor APC KPIs, optimize controller performance, troubleshoot APC issues during commissioning and operation, and support customer training and documentation. Lead and coordinate process engineering activities across multidisciplinary teams and client stakeholders.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related discipline. Six to eight years of relevant process engineering experience, with at least three years focused on process optimization, APC, MPC, process control, or plant performance engineering. Experience in continuous process industries such as mining, cement, or metals is strongly preferred. Candidates with strong Oil & Gas/refinery process engineering backgrounds combined with APC experience will also be considered. Familiarity with DCS, process historians, online analyzers, and plant instrumentation is highly desirable. Experience with APC/MPC platforms such as Aspen DMC3, Honeywell Profit, or Yokogawa APC is advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Strong fundamentals in chemical/process engineering, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and process dynamics. Expertise in APC/MPC concepts, process optimization, and control strategies. Proficiency in process data analysis, troubleshooting, and working with large datasets to identify optimization opportunities. Advanced skills in Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, or equivalent simulation tools, along with strong Microsoft Excel capabilities. Knowledge of Python, MATLAB, or similar tools for data analysis is a plus. Excellent technical report writing, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage stakeholder relationships effectively. Willingness to travel internationally and work on global project sites during surveys, commissioning, and performance phases.
