Lead / Specialist – Backend Development

We are seeking a skilled Lead/Specialist Backend Developer to join our team onsite in Islamabad. This role demands a hands-on leader who will not only guide the backend development team but also actively contribute to building scalable, secure, and high-performance systems using Node.js. The ideal candidate will drive technical excellence, mentor team members, optimize system architecture, and ensure the delivery of reliable, production-ready solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the backend development team while remaining actively involved in coding and implementation.
- Design and develop scalable and secure backend systems primarily using Node.js.
- Take ownership of the architecture, performance, and reliability of live products serving real users.
- Enforce best practices such as Clean Architecture, SOLID principles, and maintain high code quality standards.
- Promote and drive the adoption of AI tools and development aids across the team to enhance productivity and quality.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive end-to-end solutions.
- Manage APIs, databases, integrations, and cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS or Azure.
- Ensure thorough documentation of APIs and systems, including versioning and adherence to best practices.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools effectively, crafting well-structured prompts to accelerate development and improve outcomes.

Required Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in backend development.
- Strong expertise in Node.js with proven ability to build scalable, live products.
- Solid understanding of API design and database management, including both SQL and NoSQL technologies.
- Experience working with cloud services (AWS or Azure), CI/CD pipelines, and system design principles.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a “lead by doing” approach, capable of mentoring and guiding a technical team.
