Lead Video Editor

Zealancy is seeking a talented Video Editor with expertise in storytelling, motion design, and AI visual generation to join their Fulfillment/Post-Production team onsite in Karachi. This full-time role involves transforming raw footage and creative concepts into compelling, high-retention YouTube content, primarily focused on documentary-style, talking-head, creator-led, and long-form videos. The position offers flexible leveling based on skill, portfolio, experience, and trial performance rather than fixed titles. Working hours are from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a monthly compensation range of PKR 45,000 to 120,000+, depending on the candidate’s capabilities. The selection process closes on October 6, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:
- Edit long-form YouTube videos from raw footage through to final delivery.
- Develop strong intros and hooks that generate curiosity and maintain viewer attention.
- Structure videos with a focus on storytelling, pacing, and viewer retention.
- Create and integrate motion graphics, typography, animations, and visual effects.
- Use B-roll, graphics, screenshots, stock footage, music, and sound effects purposefully.
- Generate and incorporate AI visuals for storytelling, B-roll, concepts, and creative sequences using tools like Higgsfield AI and similar platforms.
- Blend AI-generated visuals seamlessly with traditional editing, motion design, graphics, and sound to maintain visual consistency.
- Apply basic color correction and grading as needed.
- Translate scripts, dialogue, and creative ideas into engaging visual sequences.
- Accurately interpret references and replicate editing styles without direct copying.
- Apply basic graphic design and layout principles when creating visual assets.
- Manage revisions professionally and efficiently.
- Take ownership of projects and communicate any blockers promptly.
- Deliver high-quality work within agreed deadlines.

Required Qualifications:
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects.
- Solid understanding of motion design and animation principles.
- Keen sense of pacing, rhythm, sound design, and visual composition.
- Good typography and layout judgment.
- Basic knowledge of color correction and grading.
- Expertise in B-roll selection and visual storytelling.
- Effective project organization and asset management skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot routine editing and workflow issues independently.
- Hands-on experience with AI visual generation and AI-assisted creative workflows.
- Familiarity with Higgsfield AI or similar AI image and video generation tools.
- Strong judgment regarding visual consistency, realism, continuity, and quality when integrating AI-generated assets.
- Good English comprehension, especially for working with English-language scripts.
- Understanding of YouTube storytelling, viewer retention strategies, and modern creator-led editing styles.
- Ability to analyze and explain why specific editing decisions work.
- Capability to translate scripts and abstract concepts into strong AI-assisted visual sequences.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:

- Compensation includes a range from PKR 45,000 to 120,000+ per month, based on portfolio, skills, experience, and trial results.

Candidates will be evaluated primarily on the strength of their portfolios, with particular attention to intros, documentary and talking-head editing, long-form storytelling, motion graphics, sound design, pacing, and AI-assisted visual work. Those with strong creative execution may be prioritized over candidates with senior titles but weaker portfolios.
