The Library Assistant position is a full-time, on-site role based at the Islamabad campus. This role is integral to the smooth functioning of the university’s library services. The successful candidate will support daily operations such as managing circulation activities, including issuing and returning materials, shelving, and organizing collections. Maintaining accurate records within the library management system is also a key responsibility. The Library Assistant will assist students, faculty, and staff in locating resources, responding to basic reference inquiries, and providing guidance on library policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage circulation tasks including issuing, returning, and tracking library materials efficiently.
- Organize and shelve library collections to maintain an orderly environment.
- Maintain accurate records using library management software and systems.
- Assist library users by answering reference questions and guiding them on policies and procedures.
- Support cataloging activities and prepare materials for use.
- Ensure a quiet, inclusive, and welcoming study environment for all users.
- Participate in inventory processes and support library events or orientations as needed.
- Collaborate with library team members to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications:
- Solid understanding of Library Services and Library Science principles, with the ability to support cataloging and resource organization.
- Experience handling circulation activities, including issuing and returning materials using relevant systems.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with students, faculty, and staff, and to clearly explain library policies.
- Demonstrated customer service skills, emphasizing patience, courtesy, and inclusivity toward diverse users.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with library management software; willingness to learn new digital tools and databases.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage records, shelving, and multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adhere to established procedures and guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
- A diploma or degree in Library Science, Information Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in a library or academic institution is considered an asset.
