Linux Server Administrator / DevOps Engineer

LEGILEGACY is seeking an experienced Linux Server Administrator / DevOps Engineer to join our team on-site in Rawalpindi. This full-time position requires working night shifts from 9 PM to 6 AM. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing our hosting infrastructure, supporting website deployments, and ensuring the security, stability, and smooth operation of client websites. We are looking for a proactive professional who can independently diagnose server issues, implement effective solutions, and maintain clear documentation of their work.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage Linux servers along with WHM/cPanel accounts and hosting configurations.
- Troubleshoot website downtime, server errors, resource usage, and performance-related problems.
- Configure and maintain Apache/Nginx web servers, PHP environments, SSL certificates, DNS settings, and Cloudflare services.
- Oversee backups, perform restoration tests, and manage website and server migrations.
- Implement server security measures including updates, firewalls, SSH access controls, and malware prevention.
- Support hosting and deployment for platforms such as WordPress, Node.js, Next.js, and Laravel.
- Manage MySQL/MariaDB and PostgreSQL databases including backups, restores, and basic troubleshooting.
- Set up uptime monitoring, investigate alerts promptly, and document incident resolutions thoroughly.
- Troubleshoot email delivery issues and configure SMTP, MX, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records.
- Archive and retire outdated installations safely after verifying backup integrity and migration completion.
- Maintain detailed deployment instructions, access logs, and recovery procedures to ensure operational continuity.

Required Qualifications
- Proven hands-on experience with Linux server administration and secure SSH access.
- Practical knowledge of WHM and cPanel management.
- Strong understanding of DNS, SSL, web server configurations, and hosting security best practices.
- Experience with backup and recovery tools such as JetBackup.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve issues using system logs and command-line utilities.
- Familiarity with Git version control, Bash scripting, and managing application processes.
- Excellent communication skills, a strong sense of ownership, and meticulous care when handling production environments.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Docker containers and CI/CD pipeline implementation.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Vercel, AWS, or DigitalOcean.
- Expertise in WordPress security and performance optimization.
- Prior experience supporting multiple client websites in an agency or similar environment.
