Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO) is seeking a highly qualified professional to join their leadership team as the Chief Supply Chain Management Officer. This executive role is offered on a three-year contract basis, with the possibility of extension based on performance and organizational needs. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing the entire supply chain function to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive supply chain strategies that support the company’s operational and financial goals.
- Lead the procurement process, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.
- Oversee inventory management, logistics, and distribution to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize delays.
- Collaborate with internal departments such as finance, operations, and legal to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and mitigate risks.
- Monitor market trends and supply chain innovations to keep the company competitive and responsive to industry changes.
- Manage and mentor the supply chain team, fostering a culture of accountability, professional growth, and high performance.
- Prepare and present regular reports to senior management and stakeholders on supply chain performance, challenges, and opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field is mandatory.
- Extensive experience in senior supply chain management roles, preferably within the energy or utility sector.
- Proven expertise in procurement, contract management, inventory control, and logistics.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing large teams and driving organizational change.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and make strategic decisions in a dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with relevant legal and regulatory frameworks governing supply chain operations.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Candidates with a master’s degree or professional certifications such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) will be given preference. Experience in public sector organizations or government utilities will be considered an asset.
