This role involves managing relationships with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and smooth coordination between government departments and internal teams. The position requires supporting project expansion through proposal development, maintaining accurate data on government portals, and ensuring adherence to external and internal compliance standards. The candidate will also be responsible for preparing progress reports, monitoring subsidies, conducting field visits to schools, and developing training programs for area and school teams to keep them updated on compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Relationship Management: Maintain consistent engagement with regulatory authorities to build strong partnerships, understand their requirements, and respond promptly to queries. Facilitate coordination between government departments and internal stakeholders on contractual obligations, policies, academic calendars, payment frameworks, and other program-related matters.
Project Expansion and Proposal Development: Assist in developing proposals to expand existing partnerships by analyzing internal and external data, identifying potential schools, coordinating with Area and Regional teams for assessments, compiling necessary documentation, and submitting proposals.
Data Management: Collaborate with regulatory bodies and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate data entry on government portals. Monitor data quality, coordinate corrective actions, and resolve data-related issues promptly.
External and Internal Compliance: Support the creation, review, and implementation of policies, procedures, and SOPs aligned with regulatory requirements. Communicate changes in regulations to relevant teams and monitor compliance through regular reviews of data, documentation, and field-level implementation. Identify compliance gaps, coordinate corrective measures, and ensure timely resolution.
Progress Reporting: Coordinate the preparation and submission of periodic reports in line with contractual and government requirements. Work closely with departments to compile and validate information such as staff and student attendance, assessments, infrastructure, repairs and maintenance, and other program deliverables. Monitor annual plans and highlight any deviations from agreed timelines.
Subsidy Monitoring and Management: Work with internal and external stakeholders to optimize per-child subsidies from regulatory bodies. Analyze monthly subsidy trends, identify influencing factors, and coordinate timely corrective actions.
Field Visits: Conduct regular visits to schools to understand implementation challenges, monitor compliance, and facilitate prompt resolution of issues.
Team Training: Develop orientation and training programs for area and school teams on compliance requirements. Conduct refresher sessions and reorientations whenever there are changes in regulatory guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in management, law, or a related field
- 3 to 5 years of experience managing large-scale donor-funded projects, preferably with compliance responsibilities
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Good understanding of local regulatory frameworks, including local government acts and service rules
- Proficient conflict management, risk assessment, and mitigation skills
- Strong data analysis and reporting capabilities
