This role is responsible for the design, availability, and continuous optimization of a carrier-grade private cloud environment that supports mission-critical telecom services, including Circuit Switched (CS), Packet Switched (PS), and Value-Added Services (VAS) such as SMSC, OTA, and USSD. The position ensures near-100% uptime, robust disaster recovery, elastic scalability, and secure multi-vendor operations. It also involves managing operations and maintenance, deployment, and network expansions, all while aligning with business goals, regulatory requirements, and network evolution strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Operations & Service Assurance:
Manage end-to-end cloud infrastructure operations encompassing compute, storage, and networking components. Oversee resource allocation, load balancing, and tenant isolation across multiple services and domains to maintain optimal performance and security.
Cloud Rollout:
Lead deployment projects for Core and VAS expansions from initiation to completion. Ensure that project delivery meets Planned Investment Program (PIP) guidelines and investment targets, coordinating with cross-functional teams to achieve timely and successful rollouts.
Digital Services & Platforms:
Handle the operations and maintenance of Digital VAS platforms such as SMSC, OTA, and USSD. Optimize traffic management, retry mechanisms, and integration with peer entities. Perform protocol-level troubleshooting and translate commercial requirements into effective technical solutions.
Monitoring, Incident & Performance Management:
Define and track critical cloud KPIs, including availability, latency, utilization, and recovery times. Implement comprehensive monitoring and alerting frameworks to enable proactive fault detection and ensure 24/7 operational readiness. Drive continuous performance tuning to enhance efficiency and scalability.
Inventory & Spare Management:
Maintain an accurate inventory of cloud assets, software licenses, and spare parts across all sites. Ensure the availability and lifecycle management of critical spares to support high availability and disaster recovery preparedness.
Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity:
Design and maintain disaster recovery strategies tailored for highly critical telecom services. Ensure geo-redundancy, automated failover capabilities, and conduct regular disaster recovery testing to guarantee business continuity.
Automation & Platform Optimization:
Promote automation initiatives aimed at reducing manual intervention and operational risks. Standardize provisioning, scaling, and lifecycle management processes for cloud resources to improve operational efficiency.
Security, Compliance & Governance:
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory, telecom, and internal security standards. Support audit processes, risk assessments, and governance activities to maintain a secure and compliant cloud environment.
Required Qualifications
Education:
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field is required.
Work Experience:
At least 4 years of professional experience in cloud infrastructure management, telecom services, or related domains.
This position offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of telecom cloud infrastructure, ensuring the delivery of critical digital services with high availability and security. Candidates with strong technical expertise, project management skills, and a proactive approach to operations and optimization will find this role both challenging and rewarding.
