Based in Karachi and aligned with the US time zone, the Manager Finance will lead the company’s finance function by providing strategic financial leadership and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. This role involves overseeing financial planning and analysis, treasury management, taxation, compliance, and internal controls. The Manager Finance will collaborate closely with senior leadership to support business growth, optimize financial performance, enhance governance, and drive operational excellence. Additionally, the role includes supervising accounting operations through the Senior Accountant, focusing on financial strategy, executive reporting, business partnering, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership: Lead and manage the finance and accounting functions to ensure efficient operations and robust financial governance. Develop and enforce financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to protect company assets and maintain regulatory compliance. Provide strategic financial guidance and recommendations to executive management.

Financial Reporting: Review and approve monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements prepared by the Senior Accountant. Ensure compliance with IFRS, US GAAP, and relevant regulatory standards. Present financial results, key metrics, and strategic insights to senior management. Prepare executive reporting packages, dashboards, and KPI reports to facilitate informed decision-making.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic reforecasting. Develop long-term financial plans, scenario analyses, and financial models supporting strategic initiatives. Analyze financial performance, profitability, cost drivers, and operational KPIs, offering actionable recommendations. Monitor budget-to-actual results and collaborate with department heads to improve financial outcomes.

Treasury & Working Capital Management: Oversee cash flow planning, liquidity management, and working capital optimization. Review short- and long-term cash flow forecasts and funding needs. Manage banking relationships, financing facilities, and treasury activities. Monitor foreign exchange exposure and recommend appropriate risk mitigation strategies.

Taxation, Compliance & Risk Management: Manage corporate income tax, sales tax, payroll tax, and other statutory compliance obligations. Ensure timely filing of all regulatory returns. Strengthen internal controls and ensure adherence to corporate policies. Identify financial risks and develop mitigation plans.

Audit & External Relationships: Lead the annual external audit process and coordinate with auditors. Manage relationships with banks, tax advisors, regulatory authorities, insurance providers, and external consultants. Ensure timely resolution of audit findings and implementation of recommendations.

Finance Operations Oversight: Provide strategic oversight of General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and month-end close activities through the Senior Accountant. Monitor accounting processes for efficiency and accuracy. Review significant accounting estimates, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial adjustments as needed.

Process Improvement & Digital Transformation: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function. Lead ERP optimization, financial systems enhancements, and automation projects. Develop standardized financial reporting, dashboards, and performance metrics using business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

Leadership & People Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning. Set departmental goals, monitor performance, and support professional growth. Promote cross-functional collaboration to enhance financial awareness and overall business performance.

Required Qualifications

Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, or ACCA designation is mandatory, with US CPA considered a strong asset. Completion of articles with a Big Four accounting firm is highly preferred. A minimum of five years of progressive post-qualification experience in financial reporting, FP&A, controllership, or corporate finance is required, along with at least two years of leadership experience managing finance teams. Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, taxation, internal controls, and financial reporting is essential. Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or QuickBooks Advanced is expected. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling and data analysis, are necessary.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) include timely completion of month-end and year-end financial reporting, budget and forecast accuracy, cash flow forecast precision, compliance with statutory and tax deadlines, successful external audits with minimal findings, continuous finance process improvements, ERP utilization, and finance team development and retention. The role demands delivery of accurate, timely, and actionable financial information to senior management.
