Northern Pakistan Energy Limited (NPAK Energy), a subsidiary of the Industrial Promotion Service (IPS) under the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED), is engaged in developing sustainable energy solutions in Gilgit-Baltistan. Operating under a 30-year Concession Agreement with the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan, NPAK Energy is committed to delivering clean, reliable, and affordable electricity to the Hunza region. As part of the Energy Plus Project, co-financed by the European Union and NPAK Energy, the Generation Manager will oversee the development and rehabilitation of hydropower infrastructure, specifically the construction of a new 2 MW Misgar Hydropower Project and the rehabilitation of the existing 3 MW Misgar Hydropower Plant. This role demands comprehensive management of all project phases, from feasibility studies and design reviews to procurement, construction supervision, commissioning, and final handover, ensuring compliance with technical, contractual, budgetary, quality, and health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the construction of the new 2 MW hydropower plant and the rehabilitation of the existing 3 MW facility.
- Oversee engineering design reviews, conduct technical assessments, and lead procurement and equipment selection processes.
- Supervise contractors, consultants, suppliers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout project implementation.
- Monitor project progress, including schedules, budgets, costs, quality control, and contractual compliance.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate technical, financial, construction, and implementation risks.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate equipment installation, testing, commissioning, and ensure smooth project handover.
- Prepare detailed project progress reports and provide regular updates to senior management.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Hydropower Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in power generation or the hydropower sector.
- At least 3 years of direct experience in hydropower project management, construction, or rehabilitation.
- Proven track record in managing contractors, consultants, multidisciplinary teams, budgets, and project timelines.
- Strong understanding of hydropower plant systems, including turbines, generators, transformers, and hydromechanical equipment.
- Experience in procurement, contract management, construction supervision, and commissioning activities.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Hydropower Engineering, or Project Management is an advantage.
- Strong project management, leadership, and decision-making capabilities.
- Proficient in project planning, budgeting, cost control, and risk management.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent project activities and resolve complex technical and contractual issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
- Willingness and ability to work at remote hydropower project sites in challenging mountainous terrain.

This position is based locally in Hunza District, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan, and requires on-site presence at project locations.
