Karwan-e-Hayat (KeH) Institute for Mental Health Care is seeking a dedicated and experienced Manager Medical Services to lead its medical team. The ideal candidate will provide clinical leadership, ensuring the delivery of high-quality psychiatric care in line with best practices and regulatory standards. This role involves strategic collaboration with senior management and interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and promote innovative treatment approaches within the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership:
Provide strategic direction and leadership to the medical team, ensuring adherence to best practices, guidelines, and regulations in psychiatric care. Collaborate closely with the Chief Medical Officer and other department heads to develop and implement clinical protocols that support effective patient management. Stay updated on the latest advances in psychiatric medicine, therapies, and treatments, integrating innovative methods into the hospital’s care framework.
Patient Care and Safety:
Ensure patients receive appropriate, evidence-based psychiatric assessments, treatments, and interventions in collaboration with the medical team. Oversee the coordination of individualized patient care plans, regularly reviewing their effectiveness and making necessary adjustments.
Collaboration:
Work alongside interdisciplinary teams, including psychology, social work, and occupational therapy, to provide comprehensive and holistic patient care. Establish and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders such as referring physicians, community organizations, and regulatory bodies.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure full compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations, laws, and accreditation standards, including those set by the Joint Commission and state licensing authorities. Oversee medical record documentation, coding, and billing processes to maintain accuracy and regulatory adherence.
Strategic Planning:
Contribute to hospital-wide strategic plans and initiatives related to medical services, ensuring alignment with the organization’s goals. Participate in budget planning, resource allocation, and equipment procurement for the medical department.
Leadership and Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and supervise a team comprising psychiatrists, medical officers, nurses, and support staff. Foster a culture of continuous learning, professional growth, and collaboration. Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify opportunities for development within the team.
Required Qualifications
- MBBS degree and Master’s in Public Health (MPH) with valid PMDC registration.
- Minimum of 5 to 6 years of managerial experience, including at least 3 years in medical services within a medium or large healthcare institution.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- The position offers a full-time schedule from Monday to Friday, with two alternate Saturdays.
- Flexible working hours from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Competitive monthly salary ranging from Rs150,000 to Rs200,000.
- Work location is in person at East Wharf, adjacent to Ziauddin Hospital, Karachi.
- Candidates should be able to reliably commute or be willing to relocate to Karachi; an employer-provided relocation package is preferred.
