EY is seeking a skilled Valuation, Modeling, and Economic Advisory (VME) Manager to join a dynamic team that supports clients in strategic planning, transaction decision-making, and value creation across various industries. This role involves working closely with clients to understand their business drivers, co-develop valuation approaches, and deliver insightful, data-driven advice. The successful candidate will contribute to a range of valuation projects including financial reporting, market valuation for transactions, and strategic priorities, while also fostering a positive learning environment for junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
As a VME Manager, you will focus on commercial issues related to acquisitions, divestitures, and transformation plans. You will regularly perform valuations, develop financial models, and provide fairness opinions. Your role includes gaining a deep understanding of clients’ businesses and industries, conducting research and analysis, and preparing deliverables such as data books, reports, and presentations. You will collaborate with clients to agree on value measurements and provide clear, actionable insights. Additionally, you will support the development of junior staff through coaching and mentoring, while taking ownership of your own professional growth.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or business.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant business valuation experience.
- Proven expertise in financial modeling and appraisal across multiple sectors, including performing business valuations using DCF, Guideline Public Companies, and Precedent Transactions methods. Experience with purchase price allocations, complex financial models (including debt financing), feasibility studies, and reviewing third-party appraisal reports is essential.
- Strong understanding of valuation fundamentals such as discounts and premiums, option pricing models, PWERM, and intangible asset valuation.
- Experience in market assessment, market sizing, and supply-demand gap analysis.
- Broad knowledge of IFRS standards related to fair value measurement, business combinations, and impairment testing.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Previous experience in valuation and modeling within a professional services firm or Big 4 environment.
- Progress toward or achievement of CFA or other relevant professional certifications.
- Familiarity with the GCC/MENA market.
- Arabic language skills are preferred but not mandatory.
