Manager Shariah Audit

ABL Funds, a prominent asset management company, is seeking a Manager Shariah Audit to join its Internal Audit department based in Lahore. The role involves overseeing Shariah compliance audits across various investment products, ensuring adherence to Islamic finance principles and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Shariah auditing within the financial sector, coupled with relevant professional qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and execute risk-based Shariah audits for mutual funds, pension schemes, and separately managed accounts, ensuring compliance with Shariah principles, the Shariah Governance Framework, and SECP regulations.
- Prepare detailed Shariah audit reports, documenting observations, findings, and recommendations, and monitor the timely resolution of any issues identified.
- Collaborate closely with the Shariah Advisor to seek clarifications or approvals on audit matters and provide support during regulatory inspections and external audits.
- Review financial statements, income purification calculations, and disclosures to verify Shariah compliance before submission to the Board.
- Facilitate regulatory inspections and external audits by providing necessary information related to Shariah compliance and audit activities.
- Stay updated on the latest Shariah standards and regulatory requirements to ensure ongoing compliance.

Required Qualifications

- Preferably hold a Shariah qualification such as Shahadat-ul-Alamiyah, complemented by professional credentials like ACCA, ICMA, CA, or a relevant master’s degree.
- Possess 5 to 7 years of experience in a related field, ideally within the financial sector.

Required Skills

- Strong understanding of Islamic finance, Shariah principles, and applicable regulations.
- Ability to effectively apply Shariah and regulatory requirements within audit processes.
- Excellent analytical skills, report writing capabilities, and attention to detail in documentation.
- High level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
