Manager SQA - I

We are seeking a seasoned QA leader to define and drive a comprehensive quality assurance strategy encompassing both manual and automated testing. The ideal candidate will lead a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of technical ownership, mentorship, and continuous improvement. This role involves architecting scalable test automation frameworks to enhance testing efficiency, coverage, and velocity across multiple product lines. Collaboration with DevOps and Development teams is essential to integrate automated testing seamlessly into CI/CD pipelines, supporting continuous testing and deployment.

Key Responsibilities

- Define and implement a robust QA strategy that balances manual and automated testing approaches while leading and mentoring a skilled engineering team.
- Architect, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks to improve testing efficiency and coverage across all products.
- Work closely with DevOps and Development teams to embed automated testing within CI/CD pipelines, ensuring smooth continuous testing and deployment.
- Partner with Product Managers, Developers, and stakeholders to align testing efforts with business goals, project timelines, and release schedules.
- Execute complex SQL queries for data reconciliation, perform API load and performance testing, and validate security measures against vulnerabilities, including adherence to OWASP standards.
- Utilize AI-assisted tools within QA workflows to optimize test case generation, enhance defect analysis, and broaden overall test coverage.
- Lead release planning activities, coordinate testing environments, manage production deployments, conduct smoke testing, and oversee post-release verification.
- Support production incident management by driving Root Cause Analysis (RCA), managing defect resolution, and tracking key quality and performance metrics.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 10-11+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with a proven track record in leadership or team management roles.
- Deep expertise in Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), full software development lifecycle (SDLC), and designing comprehensive manual and automated testing strategies.
- Hands-on experience building scalable automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium and TestNG, with proficiency in cross-platform, cross-browser, and API testing using Postman and SoapUI.
- Strong command of relational databases and the ability to write complex SQL queries for backend data verification and troubleshooting.
- Proven experience in API and microservices load/performance testing using JMeter or LoadRunner.
- Familiarity with security testing and vulnerability assessment tools, including OWASP ZAP and Burp Suite, with a solid understanding of OWASP Top 10 risks.
- Practical experience integrating AI-assisted testing tools (e.g., Cursor, large language models) into QA workflows to improve regression testing and defect prioritization.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage stress, meet tight deadlines, and effectively mentor and develop team members.
