The Manager Systems will be responsible for the planning, implementation, management, and maintenance of the organization's IT infrastructure. This includes overseeing servers, operating systems, virtualization platforms, cloud environments, storage solutions, backup processes, and system security measures. The role focuses on ensuring the high availability, performance, and reliability of enterprise systems. Additionally, the Manager Systems will lead a team of system administrators and collaborate closely with business stakeholders to align IT operations with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure, including both Windows and Linux servers.
- Oversee virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V to optimize resource utilization.
- Administer cloud infrastructure services across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud environments.
- Ensure system availability, monitor performance, and maintain disaster recovery readiness.
- Manage backup, recovery, and business continuity solutions to safeguard critical data.
- Implement and uphold cybersecurity best practices, including patch management and endpoint protection.
- Lead system upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure-related projects from planning through execution.
- Monitor infrastructure health proactively and troubleshoot critical issues to minimize downtime.
- Manage core network services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and identity management.
- Develop and maintain IT policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and comprehensive documentation.
- Manage vendor relationships, software licensing, and support contracts to ensure cost-effective service delivery.
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate the performance of the systems administration team to foster professional growth.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and relevant regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
- A Master’s degree is considered an advantage.
Experience
- 7 to 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure and systems administration.
- At least 3 to 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role, demonstrating leadership capabilities.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Windows Server and Linux administration.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy management.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Exchange environments.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Expertise in backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Understanding of storage technologies like SAN and NAS.
- Scripting skills using PowerShell, Bash, or Python to automate tasks.
- Solid foundation in network fundamentals and cybersecurity principles.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Zabbix, SolarWinds, or PRTG.
