Based in Karachi with travel to project sites as needed, this role offers an opportunity to lead training, monitoring, evaluation, and implementation activities within a high-impact health systems strengthening project. The position is part of Aga Khan University’s Department of Community Health Sciences, a recognized leader in public health research and primary health care development. The project focuses on enhancing health security, immunization, and disease control systems across Sindh and at the federal level, addressing challenges such as fragmented service delivery, limited financing, and gaps in surveillance and laboratory systems. This grant-funded role supports integrated interventions for polio, routine immunization, tuberculosis, and multidrug-resistant TB, emphasizing sustainable government-led systems, real-time monitoring, and evidence-based policy development.

Key Responsibilities

- Support planning, coordination, and implementation of project activities aligned with approved work plans, timelines, and deliverables.
- Develop, coordinate, and monitor training activities, including preparation of training plans, schedules, materials, participant management, and post-training evaluations.
- Assist in designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation (M&E) frameworks, tools, indicators, and reporting mechanisms.
- Monitor project progress against milestones, targets, timelines, and performance indicators.
- Coordinate routine data collection, compilation, validation, and review to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct regular monitoring visits to project sites, providing technical and operational support to field teams.
- Identify implementation gaps, operational challenges, and emerging risks; support corrective action development and follow-up.
- Analyze project data and contribute to periodic reports, dashboards, presentations, and documentation.
- Facilitate communication and coordination among project teams and stakeholders to ensure timely information flow and effective activity implementation.
- Document lessons learned, best practices, success stories, and implementation experiences.
- Contribute to donor reports, technical updates, presentations, and other project deliverables.
- Maintain accurate and systematic project records, monitoring documentation, and training information.
- Support quality assurance activities, ensuring adherence to protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and institutional requirements.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to project staff and field teams as needed.
- Participate in project review meetings and assist in tracking action points and follow-ups.
- Support project close-out, transition, and sustainability activities when applicable.

Required Qualifications

- Master’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Health Sciences, Epidemiology, Monitoring & Evaluation, Development Studies, or a related field from an HEC-recognized or reputable foreign university/institution.
- Minimum of seven years’ relevant experience in program implementation, training, monitoring and evaluation, research, or public health programs. Experience with donor-funded projects is an advantage.
- Proven experience coordinating field-based programs and working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated expertise in developing or implementing M&E frameworks, data collection tools, and reporting systems.
- Experience in training coordination, facilitation, and capacity building.
