A confidential global chemical distribution and trading company is seeking a seasoned senior leader to drive its sourcing and export operations across South Korea. This full-time remote role focuses on developing supplier partnerships, expanding international sales channels, and establishing a scalable regional commercial operation. The successful candidate will leverage an existing network within the Korean chemical manufacturing and export sectors to build profitable global trade flows and lead a high-performing commercial team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the commercial growth and export activities throughout South Korea, ensuring alignment with broader regional and global business objectives. Develop and implement regional growth strategies, sourcing plans, and international business initiatives to expand exports into key markets including North America, Europe, Japan, Southeast Asia, and other global regions. Build and maintain strategic relationships with Korean manufacturers, producers, suppliers, and international buyers, personally managing major customer accounts to drive revenue. Recruit, mentor, and lead a commercial sales team focused on revenue generation. Negotiate pricing, supply terms, exclusivity agreements, and long-term contracts while coordinating export logistics, freight forwarding, shipping, customs clearance, and overall supply chain operations. Oversee financial aspects such as sales forecasts, budgeting, gross profit margins, trade finance, and commercial risk management to ensure sustainable business growth.
Required Qualifications
A minimum of 10 years’ experience in chemical distribution, international trading, chemical manufacturing, or specialty chemicals is essential. Candidates must demonstrate professional fluency in both Korean and English. Legal authorization to work in South Korea is required. Proven experience in international chemical exports with a strong track record of building and maintaining relationships within the Korean chemical manufacturing and supply market is critical. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in international sales, revenue generation, and managing profitable trading relationships. Deep knowledge of global chemical supply chains, export logistics, payment terms, and trade finance is necessary.
