AIMA OPEX is seeking a Manufacturing / Process Improvement Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on reviewing and enhancing AI-generated standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions within our platform. The successful candidate will verify the technical accuracy of operations by cross-checking procedures, parts, tools, quantities, and images against factory source materials. Collaborating closely with factory associates and internal teams, you will ensure that instructions are precise, easy to follow, and aligned with approved factory processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Review AI-generated SOPs, operations, and individual steps for technical accuracy, completeness, and correct sequencing.
- Verify and correct part names, tool requirements, quantities, units, and specifications using factory documentation.
- Refine step procedures into clear, concise instructions that operators can consistently follow.
- Ensure images accurately depict the correct actions, tools, components, and assembly stages.
- Select appropriate replacement images from factory notes and supporting materials within the platform.
- Cross-reference instructions with factory notes, photos, videos, bills of materials, and engineering drawings where available.
- Identify missing steps, ambiguous language, conflicting information, and potential safety or quality concerns, obtaining clarification before finalizing instructions.
- Maintain consistent terminology and documentation standards across all operations.
- Recommend improvements to work instructions and highlight process improvement opportunities to relevant factory teams.
- Track corrections, prepare SOPs for approval, and report recurring AI-generated errors to AIMA’s engineering team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
- Hands-on experience creating, validating, or improving manufacturing SOPs, assembly instructions, or standardized work documentation.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production workflows, tools, and components.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation and identify discrepancies between written instructions and visual evidence.
- Excellent attention to detail, especially when verifying parts, quantities, specifications, and step sequences.
- Strong written English skills with the ability to communicate technical procedures clearly and concisely.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with factory associates and cross-functional teams.
- Confidence using digital platforms to review, edit, and organize technical content.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience in manufacturing engineering, production engineering, quality assurance, or continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, standardized work, and error prevention techniques.
- Experience interpreting bills of materials, engineering drawings, or visual assembly guides.
- Previous work with AI-generated documentation or digital work-instruction systems.
Success in this role means delivering complete, technically accurate, and visually clear SOPs that fully reflect approved factory processes. This includes ensuring correct parts, tools, and quantities are specified, appropriate images are used, and any unresolved questions are addressed before publication.
