Restaurant owners in the US often work long, demanding hours to keep their businesses running smoothly, leaving little time for effective marketing. In today’s digital age, diners frequently discover restaurants through platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Google, and Yelp before visiting in person. However, marketing a restaurant requires consistent effort, content planning, and brand management—tasks many owners struggle to prioritize or execute well. This role is designed to provide dedicated marketing support to restaurant owners by managing their social media presence, content calendars, and overall marketing communications, ensuring their brand stays active and engaging online.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn each restaurant’s brand, menu, target audience, and cuisine by reviewing brand materials, social media pages, and local competitors.
- Set up and audit social media profiles to ensure completeness and consistency across platforms, including bios, highlights, links, hours, and contact details.
- Build strong relationships with restaurant owners during onboarding to understand their goals, promotions, and key dates, establishing trust to manage their marketing effectively.
- Plan and maintain monthly content calendars tailored to menu highlights, promotions, holidays, and local events.
- Write clear creative briefs for the design team and review content before publishing.
- Share content calendars with restaurant owners for approval in advance.
- Manage social media accounts by writing captions, hashtags, and calls-to-action; scheduling and publishing posts, reels, and stories across Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok; and keeping profiles updated.
- Serve as the primary marketing contact for restaurant owners, providing updates, gathering feedback, and collecting multimedia assets and promotional offers.
- Track and report on social media performance, including reach, engagement, and follower growth, delivering monthly summaries with insights and recommendations.
- Ensure all content aligns with the restaurant’s brand guidelines, including tone of voice, colors, fonts, and visual style.
- Write copy for websites, flyers, and posters, including menu descriptions, promotional offers, and event announcements, maintaining the restaurant’s brand voice.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years of professional experience in marketing or social media management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, adaptable across formal, conversational, and colloquial tones.
