We are seeking an experienced Material Engineer to lead the selection and specification of materials for piping, equipment, and process services within the Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical, or EPCC sectors. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in developing material specifications, reviewing technical documentation, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This position requires close collaboration with Procurement, Engineering, QA/QC, and Construction teams to support project execution and resolve technical challenges related to materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the selection of materials for piping, equipment, and process services, ensuring alignment with project requirements and industry standards.
- Develop comprehensive material specifications and establish material-selection philosophies to guide procurement and engineering decisions.
- Prepare and review piping material classes and specifications to maintain consistency and quality across projects.
- Review Material Take-Offs (MTOs) and material requisitions to verify accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct technical evaluations of supplier offers to assess compliance with specifications and project needs.
- Review material certificates and vendor documentation to ensure authenticity and conformity with standards.
- Coordinate requirements related to corrosion, metallurgy, and material compatibility to mitigate risks and enhance asset integrity.
- Provide technical support to Procurement, Engineering, QA/QC, and Construction teams throughout project phases.
- Resolve issues related to material substitutions and technical deviations, ensuring minimal impact on project timelines and quality.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, or Metallurgical Engineering.
- 10 to 15 years of relevant experience in material engineering, preferably within Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical, or EPCC environments.
- Strong knowledge of piping and material specifications, along with familiarity with international standards.
- Solid understanding of metallurgy, corrosion mechanisms, and material compatibility considerations.
- Experience in reviewing and evaluating vendor technical bids is highly desirable.

- Competitive monthly salary ranging from Rs250,000 to Rs350,000.
