Two positions (one male and one female) are available for the role of M&E and Research Officer on the project "Access to Climate Security and Environmental Justice in Gwadar, Balochistan." This is a seven-month assignment reporting directly to the Project Manager. The successful candidates will play a vital role in supporting the project team by monitoring implementation, collecting and analyzing data, conducting field research, documenting outcomes, and preparing timely reports. They will ensure that all project activities and results are systematically tracked against established targets, indicators, and workplans to facilitate effective project management and adaptive implementation.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the implementation of the project’s Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) framework, indicators, and monitoring plan.
- Conduct regular field monitoring and verification of project activities in Gwadar.
- Collect, compile, verify, and analyze both quantitative and qualitative project data.
- Conduct and support Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), community consultations, and surveys.
- Monitor community-based interventions, including Climate-Resilient Social Action Projects and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Track community participation, feedback, and grievance-redress mechanisms.
- Maintain accurate M&E databases and supporting documentation.
- Prepare detailed field monitoring reports, data summaries, and inputs for periodic and final project reports.
- Document project results, success stories, lessons learned, and good practices.
- Ensure sex-disaggregated and other relevant data are appropriately captured and reported.
- Provide evidence-based findings and recommendations to support project management decisions.
- Coordinate closely with project staff, community members, government representatives, and other stakeholders during monitoring and research activities.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Humanities, Development Studies, Sociology, Public Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of four years’ relevant experience in monitoring, reporting, evaluation, and research.
- Proven experience working on stabilization, development, and/or governance projects involving community and government institutions.
- Prior experience working in Gwadar, Balochistan, is essential.
- Strong skills in field data collection methods, including KIIs, FGDs, and community consultations.
- Excellent English writing, reporting, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Word and Excel. Familiarity with KoboToolbox, ODK, or other data analysis tools is an advantage.
- Strong communication, coordination, and field-monitoring capabilities.
- Knowledge of local languages and the socio-cultural context of Gwadar/Balochistan will be considered a plus.
