Bureau Veritas is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Lahore. The successful candidate will be involved in supervising mechanical works, ensuring compliance with project specifications, and supporting the transformation of the built environment through technical expertise and adherence to international standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and inspect Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) installations and designs, ensuring all work aligns with project specifications.
- Conduct quality control visual inspections to maintain high standards of execution.
- Perform material conformity inspections based on approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), method statements, and material specifications.
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports on MEP QA/QC inspection status, including Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and Site Daily Reports (SDR).
- Carry out third-party inspections for Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
- Witness testing and commissioning of mechanical equipment as per approved procedures.
- Conduct condition assessments, due diligence, snagging inspections, and prepare snagging lists, ensuring timely resolution to meet client and consultant satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with local authority requirements such as Civil Defence, Lahore Development Authority (LDA), and other municipalities.
- Identify non-conformities and corrective actions while maintaining effective communication internally and with clients.
- Promote Bureau Veritas service offerings and complete essential business documentation including invoicing and timesheets.
- Uphold health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards by stopping unsafe work, reporting hazards, using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and participating in incident investigations.
- Maintain a tidy and hazard-free work environment and actively contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in mechanical design, QA/QC engineering, and site supervision.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience in site inspection and QA/QC supervision.
- Familiarity with international standards and codes such as BS, ASME, ASHRAE, IPC, NFPA, and ISO 9001.
- Technical understanding of electrical and fire safety audits.
- Training or certification in ISO 9001 Internal Audit, Quality Management Systems, NFPA, and AHRAE is highly desirable.
- Proficient in inspection techniques, able to interpret results, and select appropriate methods for quality assurance.
- Experience with Factory and Site Acceptance Testing, commissioning, and condition assessments.
- Ability to prepare detailed reports and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
