Our client, a confidential organization based in Islamabad, is seeking a skilled Media Officer to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for capturing and producing high-quality visual content that effectively communicates the organization’s projects and achievements. This role requires a creative individual with strong technical skills in photography, videography, graphic design, and social media management. The Media Officer will work closely with project teams to document activities, create engaging content, and ensure consistent visibility across various platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Field Documentation:
Travel to project sites to photograph and record videos of activities, events, and beneficiaries. Collect beneficiary testimonials, quotes, and relevant information for case studies and success stories, ensuring informed consent procedures are followed. Coordinate with field staff and project officers to plan coverage of upcoming events and activities.
Content Production:
Edit photos and videos to produce short clips, photo stories, and other visual content for reports, social media, and the organization’s website. Draft and edit press releases, blog posts, social media updates, and case studies for review by the Media Coordinator. Design infographics, posters, banners, and other Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials. Prepare presentations and visuals to support project reports and donor requirements.
Social Media and Visibility:
Manage and update the organization’s social media accounts and website with approved content. Monitor media coverage related to the organization and its projects, sharing relevant clippings with the team. Support media events, press briefings, and coverage by external journalists. Ensure all materials comply with donor and organizational branding and visibility guidelines.
Reporting Support:
Assist Project Coordinators and Officers in developing dashboards, charts, and visual summaries of project results. Provide photos, stories, and other visual content for donor and internal reports.
Archiving and Records:
Maintain an organized digital archive of photos, videos, and other media assets, including consent records for beneficiary content. Ensure media files are backed up and clearly labeled for easy retrieval.
Required Qualifications
Proficiency in photography, video shooting, and editing is essential. Candidates must be skilled in graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, or equivalent tools, along with social media management platforms. Strong writing and editing abilities in English are required, while knowledge of Urdu is considered an advantage. A basic understanding of communication principles and visibility requirements is necessary. The candidate should demonstrate creativity, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
