Medical Doctor - Home Care Services

Mohsyn is looking for a compassionate and skilled Medical Doctor with 3 to 5 years of clinical experience to provide high-quality, home-based medical care across Karachi. This full-time, field-based position involves conducting thorough medical assessments, managing both acute and chronic conditions, and delivering personalised treatment plans directly in patients’ homes. The role requires a minimum of 30 home visits per month and close collaboration with a multidisciplinary care team to ensure coordinated, patient-centred care. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgement combined with empathy and professionalism, supporting patients and their families, many of whom reside abroad.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct scheduled and need-based medical consultations at clients’ homes, performing comprehensive clinical assessments including medical history, physical examinations, and symptom evaluation. Diagnose and manage a variety of acute and chronic medical conditions within professional scope and clinical protocols. Develop and communicate personalised, evidence-based treatment and follow-up plans tailored to each client’s medical condition, lifestyle, and home environment.

Prescribe medications with clear instructions regarding usage, side effects, and precautions. Identify medical red flags promptly and coordinate referrals, investigations, or emergency interventions as necessary. Provide preventive healthcare advice focusing on lifestyle modifications, nutrition, medication adherence, and disease prevention.

Ensure delivery of a minimum of 30 home visits monthly while maintaining high standards of clinical quality, documentation, and patient experience. Offer compassionate, holistic care especially to elderly clients, addressing medical, functional, emotional, and social factors. Communicate medical information clearly and empathetically to patients, caregivers, and authorised family members, including those living abroad.

Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive clinical documentation in accordance with Mohsyn’s quality standards. Collaborate closely with nurses, physiotherapists, care managers, and operational teams to ensure seamless care delivery. Escalate urgent medical concerns promptly and support coordination with emergency services or hospitals. Participate in clinical reviews and quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing care protocols and reporting.

Required Qualifications

MBBS degree from a recognised medical institution with valid Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC) registration. Between 3 to 5 years of relevant clinical experience in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, General Practice, Primary Care, Home Healthcare, or related fields. Strong diagnostic skills with the ability to conduct independent, comprehensive medical assessments.

Experience managing common acute and chronic conditions with sound clinical reasoning. Ability to identify clinical red flags and make appropriate referrals or escalations. Excellent communication skills in spoken Urdu and good proficiency in spoken English. Strong clinical documentation skills with attention to detail.

High levels of integrity, accountability, and respect for patient confidentiality. Comfortable providing independent home-based medical care and travelling extensively across Karachi. Ability to manage transportation independently and work standard 8–9-hour shifts.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

Previous experience in home healthcare, family medicine, primary care, or community-based medical services is advantageous. Experience caring for elderly patients or those with multiple chronic conditions. Exposure to geriatric medicine, chronic disease management, rehabilitation, or preventive healthcare is preferred.

Familiarity with electronic medical records and digital healthcare platforms. Experience communicating with family members living abroad. Relevant postgraduate qualifications or certifications in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Geriatrics, or Primary Care are desirable. A valid driving licence and personal transportation are preferred.
