The Aga Khan University Hospital’s Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, based in Hyderabad, Pakistan, is seeking a Medical Receptionist to join its Phlebotomy Center within the Manager’s Office Laboratory. This department is a renowned academic and diagnostic hub providing comprehensive laboratory services nationwide. Accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP), the Clinical Laboratory supports patient care through its main campus, multiple specimen collection units, and Stat laboratories. The department includes five key sections: Chemical Pathology, Hematology & Transfusion Medicine, Histopathology, Microbiology, and Molecular Pathology. The Histopathology section plays a vital role in accurate disease diagnosis and patient management. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform patient registration using the Laboratory Information System, ensuring accurate entry of patient details and prescribed lab tests to prevent contractual issues.
- Manage cash and credit transactions in accordance with laboratory policies.
- Verify test requirements with patients and provide clear verbal and written instructions to ensure proper specimen collection.
- Cross-check patient names and laboratory numbers on receipts against final reports to avoid errors in report delivery.
- Handle telephone inquiries related to lab tests and schedule appointments for special tests after consulting with the relevant section supervisor or in-charge, following laboratory procedures.
- Undertake any additional duties assigned by senior staff members.

Required Qualifications:
- Graduate degree qualification.
- 1 to 2 years of experience as a receptionist, with preference given to candidates who also have 2 to 3 years of phlebotomy experience.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Proficient verbal and written communication abilities in both English and Urdu.
