We are seeking a full-time remote MEP Design Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and coordinating mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for various building projects. This role requires ensuring all designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and client specifications. The engineer will develop CAD drawings and models, perform load calculations and system sizing, prepare technical specifications, and support design reviews. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams is essential, as is responding to RFIs and providing design input during feasibility, detailed design, and construction phases. Additionally, the role involves assisting with value engineering, design optimization, and quality control to deliver clear, buildable, and efficient engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and coordinate HVAC, plumbing, and firefighting systems for building projects.
- Develop detailed CAD drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Perform load calculations, system sizing, and prepare technical specifications.
- Participate in design reviews and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Support value engineering initiatives and optimize designs for cost-effectiveness and performance.
- Maintain quality control and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards throughout all project phases.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, registered with PEC.
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience as a Design Engineer in MEP systems.
- Strong expertise in HVAC design, plumbing, and firefighting systems.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and HAP software (mandatory).
- Familiarity with Revit is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including ASHRAE, NFPA, and IPC (all mandatory).
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining effective communication with project teams.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Candidates residing in Islamabad or Rawalpindi are preferred for this position. The company offers a competitive salary range of PKR 100,000 to 180,000, commensurate with experience and skills.
