Bureau Veritas is seeking a skilled MEP Engineer to join our team in Lahore. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and inspecting MEP installations and designs, ensuring compliance with project specifications and international standards. Reporting to the Operations Manager or Team Leader, the MEP Engineer will play a vital role in maintaining high-quality execution and client satisfaction while supporting sustainable and socially responsible practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and inspect mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) works on-site according to project specifications.
- Conduct quality control (QC) visual inspections to ensure the quality of execution.
- Perform GAP analysis of MEP and firefighting systems in compliance with ASHRAE and NFPA standards.
- Carry out material conformity inspections based on approved Inspection Test Plans (ITP), method statements, and material specifications.
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports on MEP QA/QC inspection status, including Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and Site Daily Reports (SDR).
- Conduct third-party inspections for Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
- Witness testing and commissioning of MEP equipment as per approved ITP.
- Perform condition assessments, due diligence, consultancy services, and snagging inspections.
- Prepare snagging lists and ensure timely closure of snags to meet specifications and client satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with Bureau Veritas Quality System and identify non-conformities and corrective actions.
- Maintain effective communication internally and externally, promoting Bureau Veritas services to clients.
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies, including the authority to stop unsafe work and report hazards.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and participate actively in HSE initiatives.
- Complete all required reports and documentation within assigned timeframes.
- Foster knowledge sharing and continuous improvement through participation in knowledge management activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in MEP design, QA/QC engineering, and site supervision.
- Strong technical understanding of electrical systems and fire safety audits.
- Proficient in site inspection and QA/QC supervision.
- Conversant with international codes and standards such as BS, ASME, ASHRAE, IPC, NFPA, IEC, and local authority requirements including Civil Defence and municipal regulations.
- Certified or trained in International Standards and Codes, ISO 9001 Internal Audit, Quality Management Systems, NFPA, and ASHRAE.
- Skilled in inspection techniques, able to interpret inspection results, and review inspection procedures.
- Knowledgeable in Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing (TAB) for air and liquid systems.
