Bureau Veritas is seeking a dedicated MEP Engineer based in Lahore to join our BNI department. This permanent role involves ensuring quality, health and safety compliance, risk mitigation, and performance improvement in MEP installation and design projects. The successful candidate will contribute to environmental protection and social responsibility while working in an inclusive, flexible, and diverse environment. Reporting to the Operations Manager/Team Leader, the MEP Engineer will play a crucial role in technical inspection, supervision, and quality assurance of mechanical, electrical, and fire safety systems in accordance with international standards and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct technical inspections and supervise MEP mechanical works to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Perform quality control visual inspections to maintain execution standards.
- Carry out site inspections and QA/QC supervision aligned with approved Inspection Test Plans (ITP), method statements, and material specifications.
- Familiarize and comply with local authority requirements such as Civil Defence, Lahore Development Authority (LDA), and other municipalities.
- Execute GAP analysis for MEP and firefighting systems based on ASHRAE and NFPA standards.
- Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports on MEP QA/QC inspection status, Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), and Site Daily Reports (SDR).
- Oversee third-party inspections for Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
- Witness testing and commissioning of MEP equipment as per approved procedures.
- Conduct condition assessments, due diligence, snagging inspections, and prepare snagging lists, ensuring timely closure and client satisfaction.
- Identify non-conformities and corrective actions while maintaining effective internal and external communication.
- Promote Bureau Veritas service portfolio to clients and complete essential business documentation such as invoicing and timesheets.
- Adhere to Bureau Veritas security guidelines and actively participate in knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain regular contact with clients, understand their needs, and monitor customer satisfaction to achieve successful project outcomes.
- Enforce Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies, including the authority to stop unsafe work, reporting hazards, incidents, and near misses, and ensuring the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a safe and hazard-free work environment and comply with all applicable legal and company HSE requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in MEP design, QA/QC engineering, and site supervision.
- Strong knowledge of site inspection and QA/QC supervision practices.
- Conversant with international codes and standards such as BS, ASME, ASHRAE, IPC, NFPA, IEC.
- Good technical understanding of electrical and fire safety audits.
- Familiarity with inspection techniques and ability to interpret inspection results.
- Training and awareness in international standards and codes, ISO 9001 Internal Audit, Quality Management Systems, NFPA, and ASHRAE certifications.
