Position: Microbiologist
Reporting to: Manager Microbiology
Division: Established Pharmaceutical Division - Operations
Location: Karachi - Landhi Plant

The Microbiologist will assist the Manager Microbiology in managing and coordinating all activities within the microbiology laboratory, covering both sterile and non-sterile areas. The role is critical to ensuring the microbiology team meets its objectives, supports timely product release, and maintains zero-line failures by adhering to quality standards and protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform microbiological testing for raw materials, finished products, AMC, media fill runs, and challenge tests of autoclave and dry heat sterilizers.
- Maintain inventory of prepared media and cultures according to the required frequency.
- Conduct microbiological sampling and testing for facility utilities, environment, equipment, and product validation in line with approved protocols and validation section guidelines.
- Ensure the microbiology laboratory and washing areas maintain the highest standards of housekeeping.
- Collect water samples (WFI/DI/PW) as per schedule and perform finished product sampling in the SVP area according to the manufacturing plan.
- Carry out air sampling (viable and non-viable), swabs, gowning swabs, glove prints, and commodity sample collection as scheduled.
- Perform glucose liquid sampling following established procedures.

Required Qualifications:
- Graduate or Master’s degree in Science, preferably in Microbiology.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret microbiological data and ensure compliance with quality standards.
