Mobile Application Developer

As a Senior Mobile App Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality mobile applications for both iOS and Android platforms using React Native, Expo, and TypeScript. You will take full ownership of the mobile architecture, feature delivery, performance, security, and release processes. Collaborating closely with product managers, UI/UX designers, backend developers, and QA teams, you will drive technical decisions, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior developers to ensure the delivery of scalable and robust applications.

Key Responsibilities

App Development: Architect, build, and maintain scalable mobile applications using React Native, Expo, and TypeScript. Develop reusable components, manage navigation and state/data efficiently, and deliver responsive, accessible interfaces across phones, tablets, and TVs. Integrate APIs, authentication mechanisms, secure token storage, push notifications, deep linking, and offline/error-handling workflows.

Problem-Solving: Diagnose and resolve JavaScript and native crashes, device-specific defects, and build failures by analyzing logs and monitoring tools. Profile and optimize app startup time, rendering performance, memory usage, and network consumption across supported devices and operating systems.

Technology Stack: Manage Expo development builds, prebuild processes, config plugins, native SDK integrations, and React Native/Expo dependency upgrades. Oversee EAS Build, EAS Submit, EAS Update, Git-based CI/CD pipelines, environment configuration, signing credentials, and app-store submissions. Plan and execute safe over-the-air updates, runtime compatibility checks, staged releases, and rollback procedures.

Collaboration: Work closely with product, design, backend, and QA teams to clarify requirements, estimate work, and independently deliver features end-to-end. Lead technical discussions and code reviews, mentor fellow developers, document architecture decisions, and proactively identify delivery risks and dependencies.

Quality Assurance: Write unit, component, and integration tests while supporting automated end-to-end and regression testing on real devices. Maintain coding standards, ensure secure data handling, and uphold production observability. Own defect resolution and ensure release readiness.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience. A minimum of 5 years in mobile application development, including at least 3 years of hands-on experience with React Native and proven production experience using Expo.

Expert-level proficiency in React Native, React hooks, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript. Strong skills in mobile architecture, navigation, and state management. Hands-on experience with Expo beyond Expo Go, including development builds, prebuild, config plugins, native SDK integration, and EAS Build/Submit/Update.

Demonstrated ownership of production apps released on both Apple App Store and Google Play, including signing, submissions, and troubleshooting release issues. Solid understanding of API integration, authentication, secure storage, and mobile lifecycle management. Ability to debug native iOS and Android issues using Xcode and Android Studio.

Experience with Git, CI/CD workflows, performance profiling, crash reporting, and automated testing frameworks such as Jest and React Native Testing Library. Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work independently, make sound technical decisions, mentor others, and collaborate effectively in remote teams.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

Familiarity with Swift and Kotlin for native integrations is highly desirable, along with experience in end-to-end testing tools like Maestro or Detox. Experience with in-app purchases, subscriptions, media playback, tablet layouts, and support for Arabic/English interfaces including right-to-left layouts is a plus.

Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, as well as production monitoring tools like Sentry or Firebase Crashlytics, will be advantageous.
