As a Senior Mobile App Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality iOS and Android applications using React Native, Expo, and TypeScript. You will take full ownership of the mobile architecture, feature delivery, performance, security, and release processes. Collaborating closely with product managers, UI/UX designers, backend developers, and QA teams, you will contribute to technical decisions, conduct code reviews, and mentor other developers to ensure the delivery of robust and scalable mobile solutions.
Key Responsibilities
App Development: Architect, build, and maintain scalable mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms using React Native, Expo, and TypeScript. Develop reusable components, manage navigation and state/data flows, and deliver responsive, accessible interfaces optimized for phones, tablets, and TVs. Integrate APIs, authentication mechanisms, secure token storage, push notifications, deep linking, and offline/error-handling workflows.
Problem-Solving: Diagnose and resolve JavaScript and native crashes, device-specific defects, and build failures by analyzing logs and monitoring tools. Profile and optimize app startup time, rendering performance, memory usage, and network efficiency across supported devices and operating systems.
Technology Stack: Manage Expo development builds, prebuild processes, config plugins, native SDK integrations, and dependency upgrades. Oversee EAS Build, Submit, and Update workflows, including Git-based CI/CD pipelines, environment configuration, signing credentials, and app store submissions. Plan and execute safe over-the-air updates, runtime compatibility checks, staged releases, and rollback procedures.
Collaboration: Work closely with product, design, backend, and QA teams to clarify requirements, estimate workloads, and independently deliver features end to end. Lead technical discussions and code reviews, mentor junior developers, document architectural decisions, and proactively identify delivery risks and dependencies.
Quality Assurance: Write unit, component, and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability. Support automated end-to-end and regression testing on real devices. Maintain coding standards, secure data handling practices, production observability, and take ownership of defect resolution and release readiness.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Minimum of 5 years in mobile application development, including at least 3 years of hands-on React Native experience with proven production deployments using Expo. Expert-level proficiency in React Native, React hooks, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript, with strong skills in mobile architecture, navigation, and state management.
Demonstrated expertise in Expo beyond Expo Go, including development builds, prebuild, config plugins, native SDK integration, and EAS Build/Submit/Update. Proven track record of owning production apps released on both Apple App Store and Google Play, including signing, submission, and troubleshooting release issues.
Strong knowledge of API integration, authentication, secure storage, and mobile lifecycle management. Ability to debug native iOS and Android issues using Xcode and Android Studio. Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, performance profiling, crash reporting, and automated testing frameworks such as Jest and React Native Testing Library. Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work independently, make sound technical decisions, mentor others, and collaborate effectively in remote teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with native development languages Swift and Kotlin for deeper integrations. Experience with end-to-end testing tools like Maestro or Detox. Knowledge of implementing in-app purchases, subscriptions, media playback, tablet layouts, and support for Arabic/English interfaces including right-to-left layouts.
Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, and production monitoring tools like Sentry or Firebase Crashlytics is a plus.
This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative mobile applications in a collaborative environment, contributing to the full lifecycle of app development and delivery while mentoring a growing team of developers.
