NC Programming and Manufacturing Engineer

The NC Programming and Manufacturing Engineer will play a crucial role in developing and optimizing NC programs and manufacturing processes for aerospace components. Based in Hyderabad, this position involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient production while maintaining high-quality standards. The role supports Saab’s mission to deliver innovative defense and civil security solutions globally and contributes to the company’s expanding footprint in India.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop NC programs using CATIA V5, based on part geometry and established programming guidelines.
- Validate NC programs with Vericut software to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and collision avoidance.
- Prepare detailed setup sheets for machine operators to streamline production processes.
- Collaborate with aerospace manufacturing engineers to clarify work packages, manage project requirements, and address rework issues.
- Work alongside production teams and external vendors to improve manufacturing processes and tooling designs.
- Ensure all NC programs and manufacturing processes comply with relevant safety and quality standards.
- Participate in the review and validation of tooling designs and manufacturing workflows to support continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3 to 5 years of practical experience in NC programming, specifically using CATIA or similar CAD/CAM software.
- Proven experience programming for 5-axis CNC machines is essential.
- Proficiency in CATIA V5 and Vericut software for program development and verification.
- Solid understanding of machining processes and NC program optimization techniques.
