BurkBridge Solutions is seeking a skilled Network Assessment Engineer to join their team in Lahore, Pakistan. This full-time role requires a professional with strong enterprise networking expertise, excellent documentation abilities, and fluency in both spoken and written English. The primary focus will be on evaluating enterprise network environments, identifying technical and operational risks, validating findings, and delivering clear remediation recommendations along with customer-ready documentation for international clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of LAN/WAN, routing, switching, wireless, data center, and network security environments. This includes reviewing configurations, network topology, inventory, software versions, redundancy, interface health, routing, and operational data.
- Analyze key networking technologies such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP, VLANs, HSRP/VRRP, LACP, SNMP, NTP, AAA, Syslog, NetFlow, and QoS. Identify configuration gaps, design weaknesses, security vulnerabilities, obsolete setups, single points of failure, and operational concerns.
- Utilize network discovery, assessment, monitoring, packet-analysis, configuration-audit, and performance-management tools. Validate tool-generated findings against CLI and operational outputs to reduce false positives.
- Perform hardware and software lifecycle evaluations, including End-of-Life (EoL) and End-of-Support (EoS) assessments, as well as capacity and resiliency analysis.
- Prepare detailed risk registers, assessment reports, executive summaries, remediation plans, implementation guidance, and network diagrams.
- Transform raw CLI and tool outputs into structured Excel workbooks and professional customer reports.
- Participate in customer meetings, clearly communicating technical findings and recommendations in English to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of enterprise networking concepts and TCP/IP fundamentals. Hands-on experience with routing, switching, network resiliency, high availability, and network security principles is essential.
- Experience working in multi-vendor network environments with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent documentation skills using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio or draw.io.
- Fluent spoken and written English is mandatory, with the ability to present technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Possession of a CCNP-level certification or an equivalent advanced networking certification is highly desirable.
- Experience with automation and scripting tools such as Python, PowerShell, Ansible, or Excel/VBA is a plus.
- Exposure to network assessment, configuration compliance, monitoring, and performance analysis platforms will be advantageous.
- A bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
