Vigilant Medical Billing Services is seeking a motivated and technically proficient Network Associate to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the company’s network infrastructure, ensuring reliable connectivity, and providing technical support to staff. This role requires hands-on experience with network devices and a strong understanding of network protocols to support daily operations and minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, switches, routers, and other network infrastructure components.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity, internet access, and system-related issues promptly.
- Configure and maintain routers, switches, access points, and other network devices.
- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software to ensure optimal performance.
- Continuously monitor network performance and identify potential connectivity or performance bottlenecks.
- Provide technical support to employees for network and connectivity problems.
- Manage IP addressing, DHCP, DNS, and basic network configurations.
- Maintain accurate network documentation, configuration files, and equipment records.
- Assist with network security measures, access control, and basic firewall configuration.
- Coordinate with internet service providers (ISPs) to resolve connectivity issues efficiently.
- Perform routine network checks, maintenance tasks, and troubleshooting activities.
- Support IT/network-connected devices such as CCTV, biometric attendance systems, and printers when needed.
- Escalate complex technical issues to the Network Administrator or IT Manager as appropriate.
- Ensure network availability and work proactively to minimize downtime.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in IT, Computer Science, Networking, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in networking or IT support.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, DHCP, DNS, and Wi-Fi technologies.
- Basic knowledge of routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
- Proven experience with network troubleshooting and configuration.
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems and common IT support tools.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- CCNA certification or equivalent networking knowledge is highly desirable.
- Experience working with MikroTik, Cisco, TP-Link, or similar networking equipment.
- Basic knowledge of network security principles and firewall management.
- Experience supporting CCTV and biometric attendance systems is an advantage.
