Odoo Developer and QA Specialist - TJ / 1877040

Our client, PKF Antares Outsourcing, is seeking a skilled Odoo Developer and QA Specialist based in Lahore. The role involves analyzing business and functional requirements to determine the best implementation strategies, whether through standard Odoo configurations or custom development. The candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining Odoo modules, ensuring quality through rigorous testing, and providing ongoing support to users. Key Responsibilities

- Develop, customize, and maintain Odoo modules using Python, XML, and the Odoo framework.
- Analyze business needs to decide between standard configurations or bespoke developments.
- Implement enhancements, technical fixes, integrations, and modifications to existing Odoo solutions.
- Work extensively with Odoo components including models, views, actions, workflows, business logic, security groups, and access rights.
- Review and troubleshoot existing code and customizations to ensure system stability and performance.
- Follow version control, testing, and deployment best practices using tools such as Git.
- Perform functional, technical, and regression testing of Odoo customizations and integrations, documenting all testing evidence thoroughly.
- Develop and maintain detailed test scenarios, test cases, and QA checklists aligned with business requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Identify, document, and prioritize defects with clear reproduction steps, severity levels, and supporting evidence.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by preparing test scenarios, validating results, and investigating user-reported issues to distinguish defects from configuration or process gaps.
- Assist in release validation activities, including upgrades, migrations, integration testing, data validation, and post-deployment verification.
- Investigate and reproduce support issues, analyzing root causes related to configuration, data, user processes, integration, customization, or code.
- Resolve functional and technical support issues promptly, implementing code fixes when necessary.
- Take ownership of support tickets, collaborating with functional consultants or developers while maintaining clear communication and documentation.
- Identify recurring issues and recommend permanent improvements in configurations, code, or processes.
- Maintain and update technical documentation, reusable test cases, QA checklists, troubleshooting guides, and support knowledge base articles.
- Ensure traceability between requirements, test scenarios, defects, fixes, and final validation to uphold development and QA quality.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of development, QA, UAT, release, and support processes.
- Collaborate effectively within the ERP/Odoo delivery team and maintain working-hour overlap with the Calgary team to ensure seamless support and client interaction.
- Lead and manage a small team of two members, providing guidance, task allocation, and fostering collaboration to meet project deadlines and quality standards.

Required Qualifications

- Proven experience in Odoo development using Python, XML, and the Odoo framework.
- Strong understanding of Odoo models, views, workflows, business logic, and security configurations.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Solid knowledge of software testing methodologies, including functional, regression, and integration testing.
- Ability to develop detailed test scenarios, cases, and QA documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical and functional issues.
