As an Operations & Compliance Officer, you will be integral to monitoring real-time customer and transaction data, investigating alerts, and ensuring adherence to AML/KYC regulations. This position provides valuable hands-on experience within a dynamic, technology-driven environment. You will contribute to protecting the organization against financial crime while developing a solid foundation in compliance operations.
Key Responsibilities
Sanctions & Name Screening
- Utilize automated systems to screen new customers, transactions, and counterparties against global watchlists.
- Investigate and resolve screening hits, escalating confirmed positives to senior officers.
Alert Investigation & Reporting
- Analyze alerts for suspicious activity and determine which cases require escalation.
- Maintain thorough documentation of investigations and prepare internal reports or Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) for high-risk cases.
AML/KYC Support
- Assist with Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) processes.
- Keep accurate records within case management systems.
- Support the maintenance and optimization of screening procedures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Provide feedback to improve the efficiency of screening tools.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with Compliance, Risk, Product, and IT teams.
- Participate in system tuning and user acceptance testing (UAT) activities.
Training & Development
- Attend regular training sessions on AML regulations, screening platforms, and fraud prevention strategies.
- Support peer-awareness initiatives and contribute to fostering a culture of continuous learning.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Law, Economics, or a related field.
Experience
- 0–1 year of experience; suitable for fresh graduates.
- Internships or exposure to AML, KYC, or fraud prevention are advantageous but not mandatory.
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic understanding of AML, sanctions, KYC, and financial crime prevention principles.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to document investigations clearly.
- Tech-savvy, proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word), and eager to learn new screening platforms.
Compensation and Work Location
The monthly salary range for this role is Rs40,000 to Rs50,000. This position requires in-person attendance at the designated work location.
