Oracle Developer - Assistant Manager - TJ / 1928626

Our client, EFU Life Assurance Ltd., is seeking an experienced Oracle Developer at the Assistant Manager level to join their technology team in Karachi. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of hands-on experience working with Oracle Database technologies, particularly in PL/SQL development, database performance tuning, and data modeling. This role is focused on designing, developing, and maintaining Oracle-based applications and database systems that support the company’s business operations efficiently. The candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field and demonstrate strong coding skills that ensure both scalability and data integrity. While this position does not include team management responsibilities, it requires effective collaboration with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, analyze system needs, and implement solutions that optimize database performance.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain Oracle database objects such as stored procedures, functions, packages, and triggers using PL/SQL.
- Perform database performance tuning and optimization to ensure high availability and reliability of applications.
- Analyze and model data structures to support efficient data storage and retrieval aligned with business requirements.
- Develop and enhance Oracle Forms and Reports applications to improve data transactions and reporting capabilities.
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver robust solutions.
- Conduct thorough code reviews and testing to ensure application quality, security, and compliance with industry standards.
- Identify and resolve technical issues related to databases and Oracle applications promptly to minimize downtime.
- Maintain clear and detailed documentation of development activities, technical designs, and standard operating procedures.
- Stay current with the latest Oracle technologies and recommend improvements to enhance system performance and functionality.
- Support database migration and upgrade activities to integrate new features and maintain compatibility with evolving infrastructure.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least three years of practical experience with Oracle Database technologies.
- Strong expertise in PL/SQL programming and Oracle Forms and Reports.
