GrowEdgeX, located in Model Town, Lahore, Pakistan, is looking for a dedicated U.S. Payroll Specialist to join their team on a full-time, on-site basis. The role operates Monday through Saturday, with working hours from 6:30 PM to 3:30 AM PKT, aligning with U.S. business hours. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing comprehensive payroll processing, ensuring multi-state tax compliance, handling payroll filings, performing reconciliations, and generating accurate reports in accordance with U.S. regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Process various payroll cycles including weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payrolls, covering off-cycle, bonus, retroactive, and final payments.
- Oversee payroll onboarding and offboarding processes, managing documentation such as W-4s, state withholding forms, direct deposits, and new-hire reporting.
- Administer employee benefits and deductions, including 401(k) contributions, PTO, and state-mandated sick leave.
- Manage federal, state, and local payroll taxes across multiple states, including SUI/SUTA, FUTA, reciprocity agreements, state registrations, and tax deposits.
- Prepare and file essential payroll tax forms such as Forms 941, 940, W-2, W-3, 1099-NEC/MISC, state returns, and ACA Forms 1094-C/1095-C when applicable.
- Generate payroll reports and journal entries, conduct reconciliations, and support year-end closing activities and workers’ compensation audits.
Required Qualifications
- Proven hands-on experience with U.S. payroll processing and multi-state payroll tax compliance.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations, tax filings, and reporting requirements.
- Experience preparing and filing W-2, W-3, 940, 941, 1099-NEC/MISC, and ACA reports.
- Familiarity with payroll systems such as ADP, Paychex, Kentime, QuickBooks Payroll, Gusto, or similar platforms.
- Advanced skills in Excel, payroll reconciliations, reporting, and payroll audits.
- Excellent English communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of payroll and employee information.
- Basic bookkeeping or accounting experience is considered an advantage.
