To escalate effective HSSE Policies and Procedures (SOPs).
Ensure that all employees, contractors, and temporary workers are made aware of their individual Responsibilities.
Keep up to date with changes in current legislation and to review Health and Safety, relevant to new legislation.
Ensure that all “assessments” as required by legislation are conducted and reviewed at relevant intervals and to maintain records of the same.
To recommend control measures and advise on the standard of P.P.E. issued to employees.
Make provision for adequate and appropriate training to be given to all employees.
Organize HSE meetings internally and at the corporate level to promote HSE culture within the organization.
Conduct health and safety inspections and prepare reports of terminal operations.
Responsible for proactive monitoring, assessing hazardous/unsafe situations, and developing measures to assure personnel safety.
Immediately contact the Terminal Manager if situations are found unsafe and require immediate rectification or the stopping of any operation.
To carry out investigations into all incidents and to record the findings on the relevant forms.
To highlight areas where training/certification is required to meet the standards imposed by Legislation, Approved Codes of Practice, or H.S.E. guidance.
To bring new techniques for continually improving health, safety, and welfare at the terminal.
Ensure preparation and implementation of the Emergency Response Plan.
Exercise emergency drills for awareness of reactions in case of emergency.
Ensure compliance of HSE policy and procedures from TGPL contractors and other subsidiaries.
To impart training to all terminal staff.
To conduct a walkabout of the terminal and identify/rectify unsafe conditions.
To conduct internal HSE audits and work on the closure of items identified.
To conduct Tool Box Meetings with workers/ guards & drivers.
Coordinate with other OMCs of the region and work for the Mutual Aid Emergency Response Plan (MAERP).
To liaise with local authorities e.g. Police / Law enforcing agencies, Fire Fighting / Rescue, First Aid / Civil Defense for a safe working environment.

Support the development of OHS policies and programs
Perform Inspection of Vehicles before loading
Record NMPIs, Stop works, Stop Checks, maintain records, and do trend analysis
Perform Emergency Drills as per ER Drills Schedule
Maintain Site and On-route KPIs
Perform Monthly Safety Walkabouts
Take the lead on Driver Reward System
Report Accidents, Near-miss, Observations & Drills to the Global Head Office.
Manage Safety Inventory (Buy, Maintain Stock, Issue and Keep records)
Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures
Review existing policies and measures and update according to legislation
Initiate and organize OHS training of Office staff and Drivers and maintain records.
Record and investigate incidents to determine root causes.

Responsible for implementing and monitoring health, safety, and environmental operations.
Responsibilities include risk management activities, industrial hygiene, applicable report writing.
Industrial HSE compliance auditing, emergency response, HSE training, HSE program development, incident investigation, and data trending and analysis.
Develop and conduct HSE training regarding employees including timely completion of written documentation.
Maintain the site’s QHSE records, providing reports and statistics to management teams both on-site and nationally.
Undertake accident or ‘near miss’ investigations, advise on remedial action and produce reports and analysis for the company QHSE department
Assist in internal and external audits and implement corrective actions where necessary
Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment).
