We are seeking a Senior PeopleSoft HCM Functional Consultant to provide hands-on functional configuration and day-to-day production support for core HCM and Payroll operations within a community college in the Higher Education sector. This onsite role is critical to ensuring payroll continuity, operational stability, and supporting PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) upgrades. The consultant will maintain and support various PeopleSoft HCM modules, including Workforce Administration, Employee Self Service (ESS), Manager Self Service (MSS), Benefits Administration, Payroll, and Commitment Accounting, working closely with multiple stakeholders to align system functionality with business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Provide daily production support to ensure the smooth operation of PeopleSoft HCM and Payroll systems. Perform hands-on functional configuration to address evolving business requirements. Support payroll processing activities by troubleshooting issues and resolving problems promptly. Manage year-end payroll activities, conduct audits, and validate commitment accounting to maintain accuracy. Lead functional testing efforts related to PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) releases and upgrades, ensuring system integrity. Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date functional documentation to support system processes and changes. Collaborate closely with HR, Payroll, Finance, and executive stakeholders to ensure system functionality aligns with organizational goals. Support integration efforts between PeopleSoft HCM and Finance modules to guarantee data consistency and operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
Extensive experience with PeopleSoft HCM modules, including Workforce Administration, Employee Self Service (ESS), Manager Self Service (MSS), Benefits Administration, Payroll, and Commitment Accounting. Proven ability to translate HR and payroll business needs into detailed functional designs and specifications. Strong background in leading functional testing for PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) releases and upgrades. Experience maintaining accurate and thorough functional documentation. Demonstrated expertise in supporting integration between PeopleSoft HCM and Finance systems. Ability to work effectively with HR, Payroll, and executive-level stakeholders to understand and address their requirements. A minimum of 12 years of functional experience with PeopleSoft HCM is required. Candidates must be willing and able to work onsite in the Bay Area.
Preferred Qualifications and Additional Information
Prior experience in a Higher Education environment, preferably within California community colleges, is highly desirable. This position requires onsite presence to facilitate close collaboration with internal teams and stakeholders.
