PGR- GENERAL MEDICINE

Naeem Hospital, located on Ghazi Road, Lahore, is seeking a dedicated Medical Officer to join its Medical/General Medicine department. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of relevant clinical experience and hold an MBBS degree with valid PMDC registration. Reporting to the Medical Superintendent or Senior Medical Officer, the Medical Officer will be responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and compassionate medical care to patients. This role involves patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and timely referral while adhering to hospital policies and maintaining professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Examine patients, obtain detailed medical histories, and conduct thorough physical examinations.
- Assess and diagnose common medical conditions, providing appropriate treatment plans.
- Manage patients across outpatient departments (OPD), emergency services, and other assigned clinical areas.
- Prescribe medications and treatments in line with clinical requirements and hospital protocols.
- Monitor patients’ clinical conditions, vital signs, laboratory investigations, and responses to treatment.
- Request and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory investigations as needed.
- Identify emergency and critical cases promptly and provide immediate initial management.
- Refer patients to consultants and specialists when necessary.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date patient medical records and clinical documentation.
- Conduct regular patient rounds and follow up on treatment plans to ensure continuity of care.
- Coordinate effectively with nursing staff, consultants, laboratory, pharmacy, and other hospital departments.
- Ensure proper documentation of admissions, discharges, referrals, and treatment plans.
- Participate in emergency duties, on-call shifts, and other assigned hospital schedules.
- Adhere strictly to infection prevention, control practices, and hospital safety protocols.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold professional ethics at all times.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with patients and their attendants.
- Provide health education and guidance to patients and their families.
- Report any significant clinical incidents, medication errors, or patient safety concerns to the appropriate authorities.
- Engage in departmental meetings, clinical discussions, training sessions, and quality improvement activities.
- Perform any additional clinical responsibilities assigned by the Medical Superintendent or authorized senior management.

Required Qualifications

- MBBS degree with valid PMDC registration.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience, preferably in General Medicine, Emergency, or OPD services.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Good knowledge of General Medicine and ability to manage common medical and emergency conditions.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in documentation and record-keeping.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Demonstrated teamwork and coordination with multidisciplinary staff.
- Professional attitude with a patient-centered approach.
- Knowledge of infection control and patient safety practices.
