The successful candidate will be responsible for dispensing medications accurately, providing drug information, and contributing to the overall quality of pharmacy services through detailed reporting and adherence to established protocols.

Key Responsibilities

- Ensure proper handover protocols are followed and submit daily reports to the Assistant Manager or Manager of Pharmacy Services.
- Cross-verify medicines issued or consumed and correlate this information with clinical data to ensure accuracy and appropriateness.
- Develop and maintain a pharmacovigilance system to monitor drug safety and adverse reactions.
- Accurately dispense medicines, review computerized physician order entry (CPOE) to prevent drug interactions, and counsel patients to promote rational drug use.
- Communicate with physicians regarding unavailable medicines and provide information on suitable alternatives.
- Ensure requisitions for medicines are prepared and issued accurately.
- Monitor and manage inventory stock levels, preparing and forwarding demand requests to the Pharmacy Manager as needed.
- Receive incoming goods, conduct physical checks, and shelve stock appropriately, ensuring correct storage conditions, including temperature control.
- Provide current and accurate drug information to healthcare professionals upon request, maintaining detailed records in compliance with record-keeping protocols.
- Prepare monthly reports for the Assistant Manager or Manager Pharmacy detailing stock status, including fast-moving, slow-moving, short expiry, expired, broken, and damaged items.
- Label high-alert medications clearly and provide all necessary precautions and information for their proper administration.
- Document all interventions, drug information, and related activities, reporting these details to the Assistant Manager or Manager.
- Monitor storage temperatures regularly and maintain accurate documentation of these checks.
- Provide management with regular updates and monthly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports.
- Perform any other related tasks assigned by the Manager or Assistant Manager of Pharmacy Services.

Required Qualifications

- Proven experience in pharmacy operations, including dispensing, inventory management, and pharmacovigilance.
- Strong understanding of medication safety, drug interactions, and rational drug use principles.
- Ability to interpret clinical data and collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals.
- Competence in maintaining accurate records and preparing detailed reports.
- Familiarity with storage requirements and temperature monitoring for pharmaceuticals.
- Excellent communication skills for patient counseling and professional liaison.
