Key Responsibilities

The Pharmacist will be responsible for accurately dispensing medications and reviewing prescriptions to ensure clinical appropriateness. Providing clear and effective counseling to patients regarding the correct use, potential side effects, and proper storage of medicines is essential. The role includes maintaining pharmaceutical inventory, ensuring safe storage conditions, and monitoring expiry dates to prevent stockouts and wastage. Collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals is required to optimize pharmacotherapy and support medication safety initiatives. The Pharmacist will also participate in clinical audits and quality improvement activities to enhance patient care standards. Compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and documentation protocols is mandatory. Additionally, the Pharmacist will contribute to the training and development of students and junior staff as needed.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must hold a professional pharmacy qualification such as a Doctor of Pharmacy or an equivalent degree from a recognized institution, along with a valid license or registration from the relevant regulatory authority. Strong clinical pharmacy knowledge is essential, including expertise in pharmacology, drug interactions, dosage calculations, and evidence-based medication use. Proficiency in medication dispensing, prescription review, and patient counseling with a strong focus on accuracy and safety is required. Experience in hospital pharmacy operations, including inventory management and handling of controlled substances, is necessary.
