Aga Khan University Hospital is seeking a qualified Pharmacist for a locum position at its Outreach Pharmacy in Sehwan, Pakistan. This role supports the hospital’s commitment to expanding healthcare access through its Outreach Services, which include Clinical Laboratories, Outpatient Medical Centres, Pharmacy services, and Home Health. The Outreach program aims to provide primary to secondary healthcare conveniently near patients’ homes across multiple cities in Pakistan. The pharmacist will work within a multidisciplinary environment that serves a diverse patient population, including children, adults, and the elderly, offering a broad range of specialty clinics such as Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Dermatology, and more.

Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense medications accurately in inpatient, outpatient, and ambulatory pharmacy settings.
- Review and process physician orders to ensure correct therapeutic dosing.
- Monitor laboratory reports to verify appropriate antibiotic use, check for drug-drug interactions, and prevent duplication within the same drug class.
- Ensure timely delivery of medications to nursing units and patients.
- Verify the accuracy of medication labels before dispensing.
- Maintain an up-to-date list of expired drugs and ensure timely disposal.
- Assist in patient counseling regarding outpatient prescriptions and manage cash transactions related to pharmacy services.
- Prepare sterile injections, perform bulk compounding, and monitor chemotherapy-related critical medication lists.
- Manage inventory control and monitor product expiry dates to maintain stock integrity.

Required Qualifications:
- Doctorate or Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from a recognized university.
- Traineeship experience in retail pharmacy or medium to large hospital settings; preferably at least one year of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with hospital pharmacy operations and workflow.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, pharmacology, and pharmaceutical sciences.
- Understanding of locally available drugs, their pharmaceutical properties, and clinical indications.
- Effective communication skills to interact professionally with medical staff.
- Willingness to work in shifts as required by the operational needs.
