Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and reliable Pharmacy Inventory Specialist to join our team at Ahmed Medicos in Karachi. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of pharmaceutical stock control, ensuring high accuracy in inventory records, actively monitoring product expiration dates, and preventing both stockouts and overstocking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stock Management & Control:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all incoming, outgoing, and current pharmaceutical stock in the pharmacy management system.
  • Conduct regular physical cycle counts and periodic stock audits to reconcile discrepancies between system records and actual inventory.
  • Organize and maintain the pharmacy storage areas (shelves, refrigerators, and backrooms) according to standard pharmaceutical storage guidelines (temperature control, safety, and categorization).
  • Short Expiry Monitoring:
  • Implement a rigorous tracking system to identify medications and healthcare products nearing their expiry dates (e.g., 3 to 6 months out).
  • Coordinate proactive clearance strategies, return-to-vendor protocols (where applicable), or promotional discounts for short-expiry items to minimize financial loss.
  • Ensure expired stock is immediately removed, quarantined, and safely disposed of in compliance with local regulations.
  • Overstocking Prevention:
  • Analyze historical sales data and seasonal demand trends to optimize reorder quantities and thresholds.
  • Monitor slow-moving items and prevent the accumulation of excess stock to maximize cash flow and warehouse/shelf space efficiency.
  • Collaborate with management and suppliers to negotiate favorable purchasing volumes and delivery schedules.
  • Vendor & Receiving Coordination:
  • Inspect incoming shipments from pharmaceutical distributors for accuracy, physical damage, batch numbers, and correct pricing.
  • Report and resolve discrepancies, damaged goods, or short shipments with suppliers promptly.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Education: Minimum Intermediate (F.Sc / D.Com / B.Com) or equivalent qualification. A background in D-Pharmacy or relevant healthcare training is a strong plus.
  • Experience: 1 to 3 years of proven experience in inventory management, warehouse control, or pharmacy stock handling (familiarity with Karachi's pharmaceutical retail market is preferred).
  • Skills:
  • Strong numerical skills and high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in computer-based inventory systems / pharmacy POS software.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail healthcare environment.
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary package commensurate with experience.
  • A stable, supportive, and growth-oriented work environment.
  • Staff discounts on medicines and health products
