PHP developer

We are seeking a motivated PHP Developer to join our software development team. This role involves developing, maintaining, and optimizing dynamic websites and web applications using PHP and MySQL. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of backend programming and web technologies, with a passion for writing clean, secure, and maintainable code. You will collaborate closely with designers and developers to deliver high-quality digital solutions, ensuring performance, security, and responsiveness across platforms. This position offers flexibility with on-site, remote, or hybrid work arrangements and is open to junior and mid-level candidates depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, maintain, and enhance dynamic websites and web applications using PHP.
- Write clean, efficient, reusable, and well-documented code.
- Design, manage, and optimize MySQL databases and queries.
- Utilize HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and AJAX to build interactive web interfaces.
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services.
- Maintain and customize existing PHP-based websites, CMS platforms, and web applications.
- Identify and resolve bugs, performance issues, and technical errors.
- Implement security best practices to protect applications and user data.
- Ensure responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and optimal website performance.
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers, frontend developers, and project managers.
- Use Git and GitHub for version control and collaborative development.
- Test, deploy, and maintain applications in both development and production environments.
- Stay updated with modern PHP frameworks, development practices, and emerging technologies.

Required Qualifications

- Proficiency in PHP and object-oriented programming (OOP).
- Strong knowledge of MySQL, including database design and query optimization.
- Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX.
- Understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and third-party API integrations.
- Familiarity with Git, GitHub, and version control workflows.
- Knowledge of website security principles, including authentication, authorization, and input validation.
- Understanding of responsive web design and cross-browser compatibility.
- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Good communication skills and a willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Experience with Laravel or other modern PHP frameworks.
- Familiarity with WordPress, OpenCart, or other PHP-based CMS and e-commerce platforms.
- Knowledge of MVC architecture and software development best practices.
- Experience with Linux hosting environments, cPanel, Apache/Nginx, and deployment workflows.
- Familiarity with Composer, npm, and package management tools.
- Understanding of caching techniques, website performance optimization, and basic SEO requirements.
