Planning Engineer (Civil)

The Planning Engineer (Civil) position is a full-time, on-site role located in Karachi. This role is responsible for planning and controlling civil engineering projects from start to finish. The successful candidate will develop detailed project schedules, coordinate production planning, and ensure that resources, timelines, and budgets align with project goals. Monitoring project progress, identifying potential risks or delays, and implementing corrective actions through effective project control and analytical assessment are key daily tasks. The Planning Engineer will work closely with project managers, site teams, and other stakeholders to communicate updates, optimize workflows, and support informed decision-making based on accurate data and forecasts.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain realistic project schedules and resource plans for civil engineering projects.
- Coordinate production planning activities to ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Monitor project progress, track performance metrics, and analyze variances to identify risks or delays.
- Implement corrective measures to address project deviations and maintain control over timelines and budgets.
- Collaborate effectively with project managers, site teams, contractors, and clients to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Provide timely and accurate project updates and reports to stakeholders.
- Support decision-making processes by delivering data-driven insights and forecasts.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Strong skills in planning and production planning, with the ability to develop and maintain detailed project schedules.
- Solid analytical skills and project control capabilities to monitor performance and recommend corrective actions.
- Proficiency in project management and planning software such as MS Project, Primavera, or similar tools.
- Good understanding of civil construction processes, industry standards, and safety regulations.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and clients.
- Ability to work on-site, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a dynamic project environment.
